Hi, I’m Matt I built BestPoolGear because most pool advice online wasn’t written for Australians, or by anyone who’s actually owned a pool.
Why I Started This
Most pool advice online is written for the US market – wrong products, wrong prices, wrong climate — or by sites that have never touched the equipment they’re recommending. I wanted something different: real downsides, real AU prices, and real state-based rules, not another listicle.
How I Research
Every guide starts from what Australians are actually asking and comparing. Where I can, I test equipment hands-on and say so; where a recommendation is research-based rather than hands-on, I say that too. Safety and compliance content cites Australian authorities – Royal Life Saving Australia, AS 1926 pool safety standards, and the relevant state regulator – rather than generic advice that doesn’t hold up state-by-state.
A Bit About Me
I’m a writer who’s spent years dealing with pool problems firsthand – the chemical mishaps, the robotic cleaner that got stuck on day two, and the failed fencing inspection are things I’ve actually lived through, not just researched. There’s almost no pool content actually researched for Australian conditions, so I built this to actually help Australian pool owners.
